Hair donations have always been warmly welcomed by the Hair Massacure. Our first priority is to ensure that children benefit from these donations. With the growing amount of hair collected each year, it is evident that there is also enough hair to include adult patients (predominantly women).
For our 2009 event, all hair donations can be collected by qualified stylists. Hair must be a minimum of 8 inches long and untreated. We ask that hair donations be treated much like a shave and pledges are collected for the sacrifice.
We will collect your hair at our event in a zip lock baggie and send it to Alfred's Hair in Edmonton (alfreds@alfreds.ab.ca) who will ship the hair overseas to me manufactured into wigs. Alfred has for years made a policy to help the children suffering from cancer, most importantly local children from Edmonton and outlying areas.
If you are growing out your hair for the Hair Massacure, we commend you for the sacrifice! We look forward to collecting your hair for the February 2009 event!
